The U.S. DOT’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) conducts investigations of potentially criminal behavior by transportation company operators and personnel. As of May 15, 2020, USDOT’s OIG has 65 active criminal investigations of motor carriers, including crimes such as bribery and attempted bribery, CDL fraud, falsification of federal filings and records, and unauthorized hazmat transportation.
