On June 1, 2020, the “final rule” making changes to the Hours of Service of Drivers (HOS) rules in Part 395 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations was published in the Federal Register. The changes insert new flexibility into the rules while preserving the daily and weekly caps on driving time. STC has drafted a brief summary of the changes, which are scheduled to become effective on September 29, 2020.
