In early March 2019, FMCSA created a new “Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse” website, designed as an outreach and education site for all parties who will have responsibilities under the rules. This site can be found at: https://clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov/ and contains a factsheet, an implementation timeline, and a host of frequently asked questions. Company personnel can also subscribe on the site to receive new information and Clearinghouse updates from FMCSA. FMCSA is aiming to have the clearinghouse completed and fully functioning by Fall 2019, when the registration process is intended to begin. As a reminder, FMCSA has established an industry compliance date of January 6, 2020 which, as the old saying goes, ‘will be here before you know it.’
