CVSA inspectors conducted an unannounced 5-day inspection blitz targeting HM/DG inspections June 8-12. The blitz resulted in:

• 1% of inspected vehicles were placed OOS for HM violations in US and 19.8% of vehicles inspected in Canada were placed out of service for Dangerous Goods violations.
• The largest violation category was for Labels, Placarding and Marking. 27.9% of discovered placarding violations were out-of-service violations.
• Inspectors placed 29 vehicles out-of-service because of leaking packages.
