In 2023, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics also reported that Laredo, TX had more than 2.9 million incoming  trucks, 39.9% of the total truck volume along the southern U.S. border. This is an important statistic given the political acrimony between Texas and the Federal and Mexican governments over border security.
