In February 2025, 7.1 percent of CDL holders worked for a one-truck fleet (up from 6.2 percent in 2016 and 46.1 percent of drivers worked for fleets with more than 100 trucks (down from 52.1 percent in 2016). Inversely, 54.4 percent of fleets have just one truck (up from 50.6 percent in 2016) and only 1.0 percent of all fleets have more than 100 trucks, according to a recent study by the American Transportation Research Institute.

 

The Truck Parking Club has reported that truck parking resulted in $100 billion an annual lost productivity.

 

There are 23.4 million suitable parking spaces with 98% of them being private places that lack public access according to a report by economist Noel Perry of Transport Futures.
