1. In a recent survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by CloudTrucks and titled “How America Thinks and Talks Trucks,” respondents overwhelmingly said “truck drivers play a crucial role in the economy” (80%), and sympathize with truckers for “frequently” having to “encounter aggressive or unsafe behaviors from other motorists” (43%). .
2. In the same CloudTrucks survey as above, when asked about what they would think if they met a truck driver in a social setting, almost half of the respondents (48%) said they would have respect for their hard work, sacrifices and contributions to society.
3. After an extensive passenger vehicle crash investigation in Las Vegas, in November 2023 the National Transportation Safety Board issued a formal recommendation to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and 17 car manufacturers to require Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) technology in all new cars.
